Forget your Quota!

Good morning, everyone.

I want to suggest that you should forget your quota. You should forget your sales targets. You should not be focused on your targets, but instead, you should hyper-focus on your customer targets. Yes, you should focus on your client quotas and help them achieve them.

There's an interesting perspective in today's Words of Wisdom. It is that when you are focused on your targets and quota, you are internally focused. If you're focused on your customer's quota and targets you're externally focused.

When you're internally focused and want to be successful, you can become aggressive. When you're externally focused on the customer target, success, and well-being, you can be assertive in creating the best outcomes and options for them.

This week, forget your targets. Forget your quota and focus on your customer's target and quota. When you do you're going to have a much more effective and productive workweek.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is Hugh's Words of wisdom for Wednesday.

Live boldly.

How Is Your Mindset?

Good morning, everyone.

Hugh's Words of Wisdom Wednesday asks, how is your mindset?

Amid a worldwide pandemic, what's going on in between your two ears? Are you upbeat, optimistic, feeling depleted? Are you feeling worn down? Where are you from a mindset perspective?

I want to suggest that mastering our mindset is the greatest catalyst I have ever used to help people grow, prosper, and live lives of passion, innovation, and growth. It is the greatest accelerator, and I've used it in my personal and professional life with great success. Mindset is so important that I wrote a special report called Mastering Your Mindset that I hope you'll download from my website.

This week I want to hear what questions you have about mindset. What is it you want to know, or are you observing that will help you harness your mindset and use it to achieve your full potential? Once you ask a question, I'll create a tutorial video and help you map out an answer to your question so you can be successful at work and home.

What are your questions? If you ask, I'll provide you with real-world and real-time answers, and we'll both get to live boldly.

Thank you, everyone.

Live Boldly!

Hugh’s Words of Wisdom Wednesday 10.21.2020: Assertive Optimism

Good morning, everyone.

This is Hugh’s Words of Wisdom Wednesday. I want to share two words with you that I am convinced we need to hear in the modern vernacular more often. These two words are…assertive optimism.

I first learned about these words from a good friend and brilliant communication consultant, Brian Walter. Brian first told me about assertive optimism when he noticed that when there were situations that weren't going his way; that were uncomfortable, or that were frustrating him, they brought out the worst in him.

He told me, “I don't want my children to see me in those situations. So I committed to assertively; not passively, be assertively optimistic in almost every single situation.” Brian practiced becoming excellent at infusing assertive optimism into every area of his life.

I want to ask you: do you need to be assertively optimistic with yourself? Based on COVID-19, do you need to be assertively optimistic with your team or with a customer?

With everything that's going on with our worldwide pandemic, with the discord and division with elections, with all of the trials and tribulations that are going on in the economy, assertive optimism can be a game changer.

Think about assertive optimism this week. Are you currently assertively optimistic? Do you need to be more assertively optimistic? Do you need to infuse optimism into your customers’ life? I bet that's the case.

This week put assertive optimism on your calendar. Plan to be assertively optimistic in a meeting, on a phone call, or wherever you think optimism would be helpful.

If you do, you will not only feel good about what you are creating, but the people you interact with will feel uplifted and you'll help them rise up and live abundantly. And that would be awesome.

That's it for this week. I hope you have a fabulous week, and remember, live boldly.
